The ALBEDO Telecom Ether.Giga is an Ethernet and IP tester designed for installation, validation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Ethernet services, including multiplay applications such as VoIP, IPTV, VoD, high-performance computing, virtualization services, data centers, and storage networks. It supports Ethernet and TCP/IP endpoint, monitor, pass-through, and loop-back modes, with BER testing, RFC 2544, ITU-T Y.1564 service activation testing, Y.1731 capability, FCS error insertion, traffic generation, packet filtering, frame analysis, SLA measurements, and network exploration.

The Ether.Giga provides two SFP ports and two RJ45 ports with support for 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Ethernet interfaces, Auto-Negotiation, 1000BASE-T master/slave operation, PoE pass-through, VLAN and Q-in-Q, MPLS, IPv4, and TCP/UDP filtering. Traffic can be generated over 8 independent streams, while automatic RFC 2544 and Y.1564 tests evaluate throughput, frame loss, latency, back-to-back performance, recovery, service bandwidth, and SLA parameters. The unit features a 4.3-inch TFT colour touchscreen, USB and SD-card file transfer, VNC/SNMP/SSH remote management, Li-Ion Polymer batteries, IP54 protection, and operation from -10°C to +50°C.
