The MTNetworks MT-SFP-OC3-ERA/B is a 155Mbps BiDi SFP optical transceiver designed for long-distance bidirectional optical communication over a single strand of single-mode fiber (SMF). Supporting transmission distances of up to 40 km, the module utilizes WDM technology with complementary transmit and receive wavelengths to enable simultaneous bidirectional data transmission over a single fiber. It is optimized for SONET OC-3, STM-1, Fast Ethernet, and other 155Mbps optical networking applications requiring efficient fiber utilization across metropolitan and access optical networks.

Designed in a hot-pluggable SFP form factor, the module features a simplex LC optical connector, integrated Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) compliant with SFF-8472, and full interoperability with the SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA). The transceiver is available as complementary wavelength pairs for bidirectional deployment over a single fiber. Real-time monitoring of temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current, transmit optical power, and receive optical power enables simplified network management across carrier transport, enterprise, utility, and industrial optical network deployments.
